Youth Education and Community Outreach

The OSA Student Chapter Torino is actively involved in disseminate knowledge about science, optics and photonics technologies to young kids and to the local communities. During the year, the chapter members travel to local schools to teach kids from 6 up 19 years old concepts about science and photonics, proposing catching experiments to them.

The OSA Student Chapter Torino takes also part to several initiatives inside Politecnico to promote its activities to BSc and MSc students.

Professional Development

The members of the OSA Student Chapter Torino have unique benefits. They can improve their technical skills and leadership expertise by taking part to exclusive visits to companies and research laboratories. In addition to this, thanks to itsĀ Travelling Lecturer Program, OSA provides our student chapter with funds to annually host an international guest speaker of our choosing.

Join a worldwide network of students and young professionals

Joining an OSA student chapter, you will be part of a global network of students and young professionals in the field of optics and photonics technologies. You will be able to travel annually to one international meeting with your peers, thanks to theĀ International OSA Network of Students (IONS) program.

Each year, you can also participate to the OSA Student Leadership Conference (SLC) at FiO/LS that brings together chapter officers from around the globe each year to network amongst their peers and to learn more about successful chapter management and careers in optics and photonics.

Mentorship

Joining an OSA Student Chapter you will be able to meet elder students and faculty advisors that can help you shape your future career in the field of photonics sciences.
